What's in My Purse?!

What do the contents of your purse say about you?!

I truly believe that the contents of someone's purse can tell you a lot about a person.
It can tell you where they've been...
Where they are going...
Who they want to be...

I wanted to show you all what I hold near and dear. Enough so that I carry it at arms length at all times. After you're done checking out all the "neat" stuff I have in my purse.. I encourage you to scope out your own purse/ bag/ wallet to see what you hold most dear.
:)

Have fun!

1// Wallet
I went to the water park with my daughter the other day and I didn't feel like carrying around my tote bag, so I put all of my necessities into this old snake skinned wallet/clutch. Changing everything back has been my intention for quite some time now... don't judge me.

2// Notepad
I am one of those people who absolutely CANNOT function without a list. If it's not on my list-- it ain't getting done.

3// Gum
You know when you need fresh breath? Always!

4// iPhone
Um. Pretty self explanatory I'd say.

5// Water
I always got headaches when I was pregnant with my daughter. Turns out it was because I wasn't getting enough water. My doctor recommended I carry around a water bottle to help me remember and the habit just kind of stuck! Good habit to have at least.

6// Sunglasses
It has been hotter than the Sun here lately.

7// Breakfast Bar
While out chasing my daughter around I oftentimes forget to eat. Snacks on the go really help me take care of me!

8// Charger
So I don't have to find out what it felt like to be alive in the 1970's. Ask for directions? Yeah right and get killed?! :p

9// Book
Not that I ever really have the time... but I keep a book in my purse for those seldom moments I can just relax and delve into a good book.

10// Wet Ones
I am a Mom after all.

11// Lipgloss
I'm going to admit something to you. I have incessantly dry lips. I don't know why-- it's probably the thing I like the least about myself. To make my lips lusciously soft I carry around moisturizing lip gloss. Without it-- I die.

12// Lotion
I am a little obsessive about washing my hands around my daughter. I really just don't want to deal with sickness. I'm kind of a germaphobe. My hands get the brunt of that obsessiveness.

13// iPod
Old School I know. I still love it. It transports me back to yesteryear and all of the things I used to listen to before I had Spotify.

What's inside your purse/ bag/ wallet? What do you think the contents of my purse say about me?! What do the contents of your purse say about you?!
I'd love to hear from you. Leave a comment below!

Those Summer Nights

I hope 2015 is full of great memories you hope to never forget.
Here's an outfit that will ensure you're always remembered.

P.S I want to apologize for the quality of these photographs. It was raining and my hubby did his best. Bless his heart!

This past weekend, we were able to take our little girl to see her very first fireworks display.
We expected her to be absolutely terrified but to our surprise she loved them. She laughed and clapped the entire time. There were a few times she seemed rather concerned... like at the end when everyone started cheering. All in all she did a fabulous job.
We were very impressed with our brave little girl.

I absolutely adore the outfit I selected for this outting. It was polished while simultaneously feeling laid back. The ensemble was put together without looking like I tried too hard.
By far, my favorite part of this outfit are the darling floral denim shorts. They are incredibly comfortable and ultra (ULTRA!) feminine.
*sigh*

I hope this year brings with it many unforgettable Summer nights ;)

Challenge: Keep a journal this Summer and write down all of the exciting events that go on. Write as many details as you can. No detail is too small. Time is fleeting and before you know it, Summer will be gone! Write down everything to keep you warm on those cold wintery days.

Blackhead Remedy

Blackheads.
Those tricky little buggers!

I know that the word 'hate' is a powerful word.
However, I can honestly say that I hate blackheads.
Seriously, they are the worst!

I have been a bit stressed out lately due to a variety of factors and I think my nose has taken the brunt of that stress because sure enough those nasty black specks decided to camp on my nose!

I searched everywhere for a remedy. I even tried those blackhead strips which got some of them to come out but not all. I had almost given up when I learned a great home remedy from a friend of mine. She swears by this method and after using it this past week-- so do I!

What you will need:
baking soda
water

Yup! That's it!
Mix 3 parts baking soda to 1 part water. You want the consistency of the paste to be like that of melted ice cream. Rub it in circular motions gently on the affected area. Let it sit for 5 minutes or so and rinse. I did it every other day for 1 week and my blackheads are barely noticeable. I am going to continue the regimen until I am 100% happy with the results.

*The measurements of the baking soda and water will vary. I only needed to put it on my nose so I ended up using 3 Tbsp of baking soda and 1 Tbsp of water.

If you find that your blackheads are not responding to home remedies or over the counter products, you may want to consider visiting with a Dermatologist who can help you navigate through more treatments that may be better suited for your skin.

Summer Corals & Colors, Oh My!

A bright stylish look that is not only comfortable but transitions easily from day to night.

Coral is one of my favorite colors this season. There is something so cheery and vibrant that simply looking at the color can bring me joy! Unlike certain shades of pink and red, Coral is a stunning color on almost all skin tones. I love coupling Coral outfits with gold jewelry pieces. Nothing says, "Warm" or "Summer" better than that color combination!

This is a look I absolutely love to wear when I am busy throughout the day and won't have time to change for a night out with the girls. So whether you're headed off for a day running errands, a trip to the zoo, a night at the baseball stadium or maybe just stargazing... I'm fairly positive you'll be stealing glances (maybe even a heart or two *wink*) in a gorgeous coral sundress.

A Reason for Neon

Not that you ever need a reason for neon. However, Summer is a pretty good excuse to wear neon with pretty much all of your outfits.

It seems every Summer, vibrant shades of neon reappear and I simply can't get enough. The fun thing about neon is that even if you don't feel bold enough to rock a neon shade within your wardrobe... A neon statement piece like a necklace, bracelet or shoe can amplify any outfit and make it out-of-this-world unforgettable! There will never be a more fabulous way to add a pop of color than adding that 'pop' with neon!

It is important to choose only 2-3 neon shades and use them to compliment each other. I've found (in my own experience) that when you try to combine too many shades of neon, it can look like you have been involved in a tragic glow stick accident...
No bueno, haha!

I absolutely adore this pair of lace, neon orange shorts. My favorite thing about them is how delicate the intricate eyelet design is. The bold shade really gives an electric punch to the outfit which graduates the look from "Eh," to "Heeeey, you!"

Top 6 Beach/Pool Essentials: A Collaboration with Caught Redheaded!

Blondes might have more fun but Redheads are more fun!

I had the incredible opportunity to join forces with a very talented and redheaded SLC blogger: Amy from Caught Redheaded!! I began following Amy because she has impeccable taste. Every outfit she presents on her blog is runway perfect. Each of her outfits is a masterpiece! She really is a fashion inspiration for the chic modern woman.

Today we present to you our

Top 6 Beach/Pool Essentials

Swimsuits:
Amy: Triangl swimsuits are always my go-to swimwear! I love the neoprene fabric and their bright fun colors! I also love them because they have great coverage over my chest and bum! I hate when I go to the pool and feel like my swimsuits are showing everything! This one was the first Triangl I ever purchased and I love it!

Rachelle: I am obsessed with retro style swimsuits. Lucky for me, they also happen to cover my “trouble areas” since having a baby. Albion has some beautiful options this season. My favorite is this gorgeous off the shoulder one piece. I typically don't find one piece swimsuits flattering, however the off the shoulder look of this one is feminine and sultry.

Coverup:
Amy: I recently bought this Dress and use it as a coverup! It is perfect because it is so lightweight and comfortable. I love the black because it goes with all my swimsuits! Even though it technically is a dress and not a cover-up, I don’t see why it couldn’t be used as one!

Rachelle: This Kenneth Cole Swim Tunic is in a word, elegant. The laser cut design is incredibly intricate and really quite beautiful. I love how it’s white because, as a pale person, any color I happen to get while out in the Sun will be intensified by the stark contrast to this snow white tunic! It’s like my very own optical illusion! ;)

Sunglasses:
Amy: These aviators are my fav! I love how they look just like the Ray Ban Aviators, but are only $12! That way if anything happens to them you don’t have to feel bad! Plus you can never go wrong with a classic aviator! They look great on everyone!

Rachelle: Ever since I had my daughter I have sworn off purchasing expensive sunglasses. My daughter always seems to lose or break them *sigh* But I still want to look chic. I love the edgy shape of these Urban Outfitters Square Sunglasses.

Hats:

Amy: I’m not a huge hat person, but I saw this baseball cap at Nordstrom and I could not resist! It is so cute and can be worn with just about anything! I love the feminine touch on a traditional baseball cap!

Rachelle: I recently saw this Nine West Fedora at DSW. I went back the next week and they were sold out! I am so glad I was able to find it on Belk.com and for cheaper too! I love wearing Fedoras because it’s a perfect way to look fabulous when I haven't had time to do my hair! ;)

Sandals:

Amy: I love these Leather Dolce Vita flip flops! I got a little different variation of these sandals last year and I love them! The leather elevates the flip flop so it doesn’t look so casual! Also, I have these flip flops and they aren’t super noisy like other flip flops can be, it's so nice! You can throw them on for the pool and then wear them out with a dress later in the evening!

Rachelle: This is my #1 pick for the season! Mercanti Fiorentini Kalli recently came out with a gorgeous and versatile flat sandal. They are usually $118.00 but are currently HALF OFF!!! I love the metallic/cognac two toned look. It can pair with pretty much anything in your closet while adding the perfect amount of sparkle without going overboard.

Sunscreen:

Amy: As a fair skinned redhead, going to the pool, beach, lake, outside without sunscreen is not an option! I have had some pretty bad sunburns in my day and I don’t feel like adding anymore to that list. I start my sunscreen regimine with my everyday face lotion that has sunscreen in it. Then I always put on a layer of sunscreen lotion, usually SPF 30. I take the spray on sunscreen with me to the pool for touch-ups and re-applying, but I always use the lotion first! I have definitely gotten some spotty sunburns from the spray on sunscreen not working, so using the lotion first helps avoid that!

Rachelle: I’m not your momma so I’m gonna keep this short… Sunscreen is so important! I used to work for an amazing Dermatologist and if you’ve ever been to a Dermatologist's office and flipped through some of those pamphlets… Luckily, skin cancer can be prevented! Neutrogena Clear Face is great for putting underneath your makeup because it doesn’t make your skin oily or greasy. I have pretty sensitive skin and it has never made me break out!
